- What is it?
- RescuNET™ is a mobile
Internet hotspot. We carry a satellite transceiver which provides
us a broadband link to the Internet. Next we connect a custom wireless
LAN to it, among other things, and route IP traffic to and from
the Internet for anyone who connects to our access point. That makes
us an Internet Service Provider... with a twist....
- Where can I take it?
- RescuNET™ is built upon the
legendary Jeep® platform. Modifications have been engineered
to give this vehicle an extreme advantage when the road ahead gets
rough. This means it can be taken into areas which are otherwise
inaccessible to traditional mobile command center solutions.
- What kind of technologies does it support?
- RescuNET™ supports Internet
enabled technologies. You can connect with your PocketPC®, Palm®,
notebook computer, wireless printer, webcam or any other device which requires
a network connection.
- How FAST is it?
- RescuNET™ comes
in several flavors depending upon site requirements.
- The standard package includes a Ku-band satellite connection @256Kbps.
- Our eXtreme package includes a Ka-band satellite connection @2.5Mbps.
- Custom satellite configurations including choice of RF tranceivers and your preferred satellite service provider are an option when you purchase your own RescuNET™.
- Is it secure?
- RescuNET™'s network connection
is secured with strong encryption on a Linux firewall.
An Intrusion Detection System constantly monitors traffic and provides
the on-site communications engineer with realtime reports.
- How easy is it to use?
- RescuNET™ gets to a site and
in ~10 minutes you can surf with your wireless enabled devices.
It really is that simple.
- Is it affordable?
- RescuNET™ is different from
anything on the market today! It's a service for entities who either can't justify the cost of developing a dedicated mobile communications program or require additional communications resources at the last minute. Promotional pricing can be arranged for as little as $200 per day!
